Our spring issue has been just dropped in the mail for our subscribers and will appear on newsstands starting May 10th. But that also means we have a release party coming up. Since our main focus is on housing it seems like the perfect opportunity to have a house party. Come join us for some backyard patio chit-chat and (hopefully) good weather.

Here’s what you can expect in the new issue:

  • The cover section on housing examines a number of topics such as co-housing, neighbourhood homes that used to be cottages, the city’s first LGBTQ2S shelter, the pros and concs of the land transfer tax, when millenials buy a house, and how to resettle convicts back into the city.
  • The history of the Bayview Ave. Bridge is explored in a photo essay from the Toronto Archives.
  • Senior editor John Lorinc dives deep into the city’s largest ever archaeological dig right behind city hall.
  • Plus lots of charming stories: Willowdale modernism, wild parks plants you can eat, the gender divide of park names, the disappearing greenery in the PATH, and a look at how Toronto has been a landing spot for refugees for over 200 years.
